Trump Imposes Sweeping Tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China

President Donald Trump has announced major new tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada, and China, aiming to curb drug trafficking and illegal immigration. The tariffs, signed at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday, include a 25% duty on all Mexican imports, most Canadian goods, and a 10% tariff on Chinese products.

In response, Mexico and Canada have announced retaliatory tariffs, while China plans to challenge the move at the World Trade Organization. The escalating trade tensions could drive up prices for American consumers on everyday goods, from cars to food.

Trump invoked emergency powers to enforce the tariffs, which take effect Tuesday. His administration warns that any countermeasures from affected nations could lead to even harsher trade restrictions.
