Interactive Brokers has launched cryptocurrency trading for retail investors in the European Economic Area (EEA), allowing clients to trade digital assets alongside traditional investments in one account.
The new service lets users buy and sell 11 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Cardano and Dogecoin.
According to the company, the offering is available through its Ireland-based entity and gives clients access to spot crypto trading directly within their existing brokerage accounts. Trading is available 24/7, with commissions starting between 0.12% and 0.18%.
The platform uses infrastructure from Zero Hash to handle trading and custody.
Interactive Brokers said its crypto business is still small compared to its overall operations, but the launch marks a step toward expanding digital asset services in Europe as demand continues to grow.
The move reflects a broader trend of traditional financial firms adding crypto trading, custody and related services as more investors look for access to digital assets.
