Flowdesk has received a full broker-dealer license in Dubai, expanding its ability to serve institutional investors in the region.

The institutional crypto market maker, backed by Coinbase Ventures and BlackRock, said Tuesday that Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) granted the license to its local entity, Flowdesk Omega FZE.

The approval allows Flowdesk to offer regulated broker-dealer services to qualified and institutional investors in and from Dubai.

The move is part of Flowdesk’s wider push to expand its regulated operations globally. The company also recently received authorization in France as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.

Broker-dealers are becoming an important link between traditional finance and digital assets, offering services such as trading, liquidity and regulatory support. Other crypto firms, including Wintermute, BitGo and OTC Markets, are also expanding into regulated brokerage and digital asset infrastructure.
