Franklin Templeton is partnering with Ondo Finance to launch tokenized versions of its ETFs, giving investors access through crypto wallets with round-the-clock trading.
The funds will first be available to investors outside the US, including in Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America. US access will depend on future regulatory approval.
The products will provide onchain exposure to assets such as stocks, bonds and gold. Instead of holding the ETFs directly, investors will hold tokens that track their value and returns.
The move creates a new way to access traditional financial products without using standard brokerage accounts. The tokens can also be used within crypto platforms, including as collateral in decentralized finance (DeFi).
The launch comes as demand grows for blockchain-based investing, with more firms exploring tokenized assets and always-open markets.
