Coinbase and payments infrastructure provider Moov are partnering to bring stablecoin payment acceptance, settlement and real-time funding to more than 1,000 community banks and credit unions across the US.
The partnership will integrate Coinbase’s stablecoin infrastructure into Moov’s existing payments platform, allowing financial institutions to offer digital asset services without having to build their own crypto technology.
The companies said the service will support consumer stablecoin payments, merchant payments and settlements, payouts and custody. Moov will use Coinbase’s custodial wallet accounts to hold funds and its Payments API to manage stablecoin transactions.
Moov already provides payments infrastructure to more than 1,000 community banks and credit unions, connecting them to card and real-time payment networks.
The partnership is designed to help smaller financial institutions offer stablecoin services while keeping their existing customer relationships and payment systems. Coinbase will provide the regulated digital asset infrastructure, while Moov will connect it to the systems banks already use.
The companies said stablecoin adoption could also help businesses receive payments faster and reduce reliance on traditional payment rails, including by enabling funding outside normal banking hours.
