October 16, 2026 — Visa has taken another major step toward mainstream cryptocurrency adoption by launching its USDC stablecoin prefunding service commercially through payment processor Inyo Global.
The new service enables eligible banks, fintech companies, and payment providers to fund international transfers using USDC, allowing payments to be funded around the clock, including weekends and outside traditional banking hours.
Inyo Global becomes the first Visa Direct processor to offer the service commercially, following Visa’s stablecoin payment pilots launched in 2025.
The integration allows businesses to access stablecoin-powered funding through their existing payment infrastructure, without requiring major technical changes.
Visa Direct already supports international payouts across more than 180 countries through Inyo’s platform, creating opportunities for broader adoption of blockchain-based payment solutions.
Why it matters: Visa’s move from stablecoin testing to commercial implementation represents an important milestone for cryptocurrency adoption. By integrating USDC into traditional payment infrastructure, Visa is demonstrating how blockchain technology can make global money transfers faster, more accessible, and more efficient.
